Grade 8 - Mathematics
Developmental Math 1 - Pre-Algebra (Credit: 0.50)Pre-Algebra is a course that will set you up for difficult concepts in algebra. It is a
comprehensive collection of mathematical concepts designed to give you a deeper
understanding of the world around you, and includes topics such as whole numbers, ratio and
proportion, solving equations, and inequalities.
Developmental Math 2 – Beginning Algebra (Credit: 0.50)Beginning Algebra is a comprehensive collection of mathematical concepts. It includes concepts
such as fractions, real numbers, linear and nonlinear equations, and inequalities.
Florida M/J Pre-Algebra - Semester 1 (Credit: 1.00)Mathematics is the study of patterns around us. In Florida M/J Pre-Algebra, Semester
A, you will explore transformations and solve linear equations. You will also solve realworld
problems with two linear equations. In this course, you will study and interpret
functions that can help you solve problems you encounter in everyday life
Florida M/J Pre-Algebra - Semester 2 (Credit: 1.00)Mathematics is the study of patterns around us. In Florida M/J Pre-Algebra, Semester
B, you will study the use of scientific notation and learn to use roots appropriately. You
will plot and compare irrational numbers and simplify expressions with irrational
numbers. You will also explore the Pythagorean Theorem and probability and statistics,
which you can use to solve real-world problems.
Math 8 (Credit: 1.00)This course is designed to enable all students at the middle school level to develop a deep understanding of math objectives and leaves students ready for algebra. The first semester covers objectives in transformations, linear equations, systems of equations, and functions. The second semester focuses on scientific notation, roots, the Pythagorean Theorem and volume, and statistics and probability.
