California Principles of Architecture and Construction 1 A - Semester 1 (Credit: 0.50)This one-semester course is intended as a practical, hands-on guide to help you learn electronic
communication skills required to achieve success in various careers. This course has 16
lessons organized into four units, plus four Unit Activities. Each lesson contains one or more
Lesson Activities.
Additionally, there are two Course Activities that you need to work on throughout the duration of
the course. These activities are long-term projects over the length of the course. The due dates
for these activities are to be determined by the course instructor.
This course will cover electronic communication skills with respect to computer hardware and
software, keyboarding speed and accuracy, creation of business documents, and the role of the
Internet.
California Principles of Architecture and Construction 1 B - Semester 2 (Credit: 0.50)This one-semester course is intended to help you familiarize yourself with concepts related to
architecture and construction work. This course has 15 lessons organized into four units, plus
four Unit Activities. Each lesson contains one or more Lesson Activities.
This course explains the use of computers in architecture and construction work. It also covers
concepts and careers related to urban design and green design. In addition, it explains the
stages involved in creating a built environment and the aspects of managing a construction
project. Finally, the course covers communication skills and safety and legal requirements
needed in the field of architecture and construction.
Florida Introduction to Architecture & Construction and Career Planning (Credit: 0.50)This one-semester course is intended to help you gain familiarity with career opportunities in the
architecture and construction career cluster. This course has 20 lessons organized into four
units, plus four Unit Activities. Each lesson contains one or more Lesson Activities.
This course covers the fundamental concepts in architecture and construction. It also includes
the different career pathways in the architecture and construction industry. In addition, the
course covers design concepts, workplace skills, and the role of computers in this field.
Principles of Architecture & Construction (Credit: 1.00)This interactive course empowers students with the knowledge to appreciate and evaluate career opportunities in architecture and construction. Principles of Architecture & Construction B - Semester 2 (Credit: 0.50)The Principles of Architecture and Construction Semester B course explains the use of
computers, design concepts, and project management, as well as the safety, legal, and
communication requirements in architecture and construction work. Principles of
Architecture and Construction Semester B begins by describing basic computer
hardware and software. In this course, you will create enhanced documents by using
word processing software and explain the options for creating and managing
spreadsheets. This course also covers the key concepts of urban design and its
relationship with city government. Finally, you will learn about construction documents
and standards.
